Abu Zaid Al-Hilali,

 Abu Zaid Al-Hilali, peace

be upon him

The well-known knight and poet

. . . There was a time when Banu Hilal was struck by hunger. The pastures became scarce, and the pasture and pastures became scarce. Most of their produce died, and the entire tribe was afflicted with hunger and thirst. They proposed sending someone to explore the lands for them, and in fact the tribe traveled a full day’s journey without stopping. After they camped at the specified place, they returned to him and asked him about the person. He said to them: He is Abu Zaid Al-Hilali. Peace be upon him. . . They asked him why he chose it, and he said, during our departure, I noticed all the members of the tribe shifting from one hip to another while riding on the mount, except for Abu Zaid, as he used to ride on one hip.
